Lightsout CNC Manufacturing Corporation is a precision aerospace contract machine shop located in Hawthorne, California — less than one mile from SpaceX headquarters, at the center of the Southern California aerospace and defense manufacturing corridor.

Two Matsuura MX-330 5-axis machining centers with integrated 10-pallet pools, both operational from Day 1. Each machine delivers 14 hours of unattended overnight production, 20 total productive hours per day — 832 combined available spindle hours per month from launch.
Launch materials: 6061-T6, 7075-T6, 2024-T3, and MIC-6 tooling plate. Titanium (Ti-6Al-4V) and Inconel capability in Year 2.
Status & what it unlocks
In progress at launch — enables acceptance of defense-related RFQs and controlled technical data.
On the roadmap — AS9100D, the aerospace quality standard that unlocks prime contractor and Tier 1 supplier programs.
Planned — ISO 9001:2015, the foundational quality-management baseline expected across commercial work.
Year 2 target — ISO 13485, the medical-device QMS standard required for instrument and device components.
Future — NADCAP special-process accreditation for the aerospace primes that require it.
Aerospace primes and Tier 1–2 suppliers, commercial space manufacturers, defense contractors, and UAV and next-generation air mobility programs. Target customers include SpaceX, Northrop Grumman, Anduril, Joby Aviation, L3Harris, Raytheon, Ducommun, and Rocket Lab supply chains operating within the greater Los Angeles basin.
